A Little Spring Beach Trip

Last weekend we took a short trip down to Charleston to see Allan's brother Keith and his band, who were playing in town.  Nathan kind of had the best time ever :)

Day 1: The beach was pretty chilly...but fun!
Excited to be out of the car!

 Collecting shells...
 ...here's one!

 Throwing rocks
He played on this log for half an hour...

 Daddy!
Reading a book in the hotel while we wait for Allan to get up
Nekkid puzzle time! He's really into puzzles these days. I got him a bunch of second hand puzzles like this and he loves them.
Day 2: a little warmer, a lot less windy!

 "I throw the sand!"

He seriously had the best time. He could run around and we didn't have to worry too much about him. He still avoided the big water and just played in the tide pools, and there wasn't too much trouble he could get into.

 Sea foam
We took a long walk to see this lighthouse (in the background). He walked quite a long way to get there, but then I decided to take a "short cut" back along a concrete path laced with broken bottles. So...I carried him on my shoulders for a terrible 1/4 mile walk

We got a kite and Nathan flew it!

Too much running...he ended up falling face first into the cold tide pool. NOT a happy camper...

He thinks he's hot stuff here driving the truck :)

All and all a great time! Can not WAIT to go back in May with my best bud (and super cousin) Val!
