The Beach!

Last weekend we took Nathan on his first trip to the beach.  We went to Charleston, SC for the weekend and had a good time.  Not quite as relaxing of a trip as before the baby, but...

 Well, ok some parts were still relaxing :)

Weekends of Fun...

We've been keeping busy recently. This summer we've had so much rain that we try to go out and do something any nice weekend we get.

One Saturday afternoon we were planning to go walk around Uptown (downtown...) Charlotte, but:

 RAIN!

 We put on our rain jackets and went on anyways.  A few miles from home it was a beautiful day - not a cloud in the sky!

So we drove around Uptown...

 Looked at some neat fountains (Nathan was lucky and didn't get splashed)

 And went to an actual sit down restaurant! We ate outside so I didn't feel bad that Nathan made a huge mess :)
All in all it was a good trip and nice to get out of the house.


Another weekend we went to Latta Plantation, which consists of a bunch of old buildings and farm to tour. 

 Nathan loved the animals, but wanted to get a little too close to the chickens.

 These pigs were big. Really big. And were pretty much swimming through the mud.
Nathan wouldn't take a nap so he just sat int he stroller and was cranky.

 There was also a park nearby so we walked around while Allan took a few casts.
