Gatlinburg Trip

Last weekend we met up with Allan's brother Keith and his wife Megan is Gatlinburg TN outside the Smoky Mountains.  This was actually Nathan's second trip there, since we went camping nearby in September.  The weather was perfect and we had a great time!

It was a long drive for a baby...blueberry break!

Nathan's first night in a hotel.  He loved it of course since he got to snuggle with Mom and Dad all night :)  The next morning he got to enjoy a nice breakfast on the balcony.
We went to Cade's Cove, which is really great...we could spend several days there checking everything out, but only stayed for the afternoon.  Oh well, next time!
Having a little picnic (just like Little House on the Prairie!! :D
 Keith and Megan
 Our little family
Hanging out in a log cabin (note: we usually do dress our kid in pants, but they didn't survive the drive from the hotel)
We borrowed a hiking backpack from a friend, and Nathan loved it!
It must have been very comfortable.
 Like...REALLY comfortable ;)

This is an old outhouse...complete with fresh water trough to wash up after!
Sunday morning Nathan got up really early (as usual), and so as to not wake everyone else we went on a looong walk around town.  Checking out the candy store
 So colorful. So yummy.
Hanging with his monkey outside the aquarium
The haunted house! There was another haunted house attraction in town with a big ghost decoration outside...he was so afraid of it! I never heard the baby make those noises before! We wondered how he knows that it was supposed to be scary...anyways after that a stuffed moose head also prompted the same response so...ghosts are scary.  So are moose.

Eating the rest of my apple.  The whole core...oh well!

Then we walked on a trail outside town for a bit before deciding to head back to the hotel. It was a nice walk, we started before sunup and got to see the town before everything opened.
Sunday we stopped at the Chimney Tops picnic area for a break and to look at the scenery...it was very nice.
I'm not sure what this pout was for.

This is a new thing...not sure where it came from (daycare?), but when he gets really excited sometimes he'll throw his hands up!
I really like this one :)

 Smootches with Aunt Megan
Touching lots of things...we really let him explore and I can already see my future: grass stains and holes in the knees for the next several years :p

 More candy!
Someone's a little cranky before he gets his caffeine ;)
Planning where to go for the day
 Checking out the Easter decor
 Driving with Daddy
A bear!

 A baby :D

9 Months

Our big boy is nine months old! As my Mom pointed out, nine months in my tummy and nine months outside!

Our boy is getting bigger every day...and learning new things and ways to get into "trouble"...his current favorite activities include chasing the cat around the house, opening and closing doors, and eating eating eating.

At his 9 month appointment he was exactly 20lbs, and nearly 50th percentile all around (height, weight, head size): the perfect baby :)

And...getting into trouble! ;)
