Out and About and Tummy Time

Nathan was 3 weeks old on Sunday, and this week I've made an effort to get us out of the house a bit more (we've only been out a handful of times in the past few weeks).  Definitely a lot more planning involved than there used to be, and my biggest challenge is that right now this kid wants to eat every hour.  But...so far we went to the park a few times, to the bank and post office, and even grocery shopping!  I know...I've become a bit of a recluse when I'm proud of us for making it to the grocery store ;)  Unfortunately, the forecast for the next couple days is around 105 deg!  So...we'll have to get up early if we want to get outside ;)

We also started doing some real tummy time the past few days.  Nathan's done really well, and I think he enjoys the change of scenery.

 Arrgh...ta da!
Looking pretty pleased with himself :)

My baby is growing up

My little boy is growing up! Today he ::sniffle:: outgrew his newborn diapers and "graduated" to size 1 :=(
I need to stop feeding him so much...

Today Nathan also had his first tub bath!  At first he didn't mind having his face washed and his butt in the water, but as soon as I started washing the rest of his body he started crying.  Oh well, a little crying is better than a dirty baby!  I'm sure he'll get used to it after a few more baths...

Here he is hanging out in his tubby hammock before the washing began...

From the glare and raised middle finger, you can tell how he felt after the bath ;)

Hello!
Now that our little Nathan's joined the family, we wanted to create this blog to keep in touch with our far away family.

Our little surprise baby was due on May 24th, but needed a little extra time to cook.  He was finally born on Sunday June 3rd at 3:27am.  We decided to name him Nathan Alexander.  He weighed 8 lbs 9oz, and was 20 inches long.  Allan and I couldn't be happier!  We had taken a Bradley natural childbirth class, and I delivered him without any medications or other interventions :)

The morning after he was born...everyone says he looks so alert!
